For Rivals 2's April 2026 "Fun-for-All" update, I was responsible for the full-development stack (minus art) for the headline casual content. This included:
Items
20 new Smash-Bros-style items.
Design and implementation for each, including any new mechanics or engine features required.
The underlying architecture supporting items in the first place.
(And down the road, Steam Workshop support for custom items.)
Casual Stages
10 new casual stages, each with a unique gimmick or mechanic.
Similar to items, I owned the full design and implementation process for these.
In addition to the full design and implementation, I also worked with art and sound to concept the visuals and provide the necessary engine hooks for any custom gameplay-to-visual bindings required by tech-art.
